Julia Gillard – Labor

As I said more than a week ago, this election is about a choice between who will take the country forward or back.
As the campaign has unfolded, that choice has become even clearer, especially in the area of health.
For more than a decade Australians suffered because public hospital emergency departments struggled to cope with more patients while receiving less support from the former Coalition Government.
That is why we have already invested $1.5 billion to expand capacity to deliver faster Emergency Department treatment right across the country.
I want to continue health reform by investing in more doctors and nurses to ensure every Australian gets emergency treatment within the four hour national target.
Australians depend on health services everyday and all Tony Abbott can only propose is to cut them. Federal Labor is taking on the challenge of health reform and I hope you can provide your continued support so together, we can move the country forward. Source www.alp.org.au
